In 1989 Nikos (guitar/vocals) formed an original punk band (drawing also inspiration from extreme hardcore outfits), under the name RIGMA. Between 1989 and 1993 they toured all over Grece giving intense live shows to schools, small clubs and politically ocupied resorts. In 1994 they released their first album entitled "O Teleutaios Aionas", which was received with great enthusiasm by the local punk/core scene. At the same time another band named OLETHROS was roaming the scene, formed by the singer/guitarist Emi. It was supposed to be an all-female band but it didn't work out. Eventually Emi joins RIGMA as a bass player and continues with her own band using session musicians. Both bands shared the same stage quite often, playing similar styles of extreme music so they desided to unite and become one solid force under the moniker of OLETHRIO RIGMA. In 1996 the band released its first album, entitled simply "Olethrio Rigma". This time the music was more aggressive and powerful than ever. In 1997 and 1998 the band financed two indepedent compilation CDs, entitled "Chaos I" and "Chaos II" featuring unsigned bands from the local punk and hardcore scene. Finally in late 1998 the band signed to IRON PALM PRODUXIONS (a division of BLACK LOTUS RECORDS) and started working on a more professional level. In 1999 they recorded the album entitled "Fight for the innocent". This time they achieved a killer, destructive sound, which eliminated all their previous releases. Their music bacame more complex incorporating more metallic elements but still maintaining their punk/hardcore attitude and thinking. "Fight for the innocent" is harsh, extreme, realistic. A killer release from punk/hardcore veterans. Singing in Greek, English and German they will blow everybody away. After the success of "Fight for the innocent" it was time to record the new material! The album entitled "Μ.Γ.Δ." (Cops, Pigs, Killers) was recorded at PRAXIS studio in order to achieve a killer sound and it was released in the end of 2000! The music moved a little towards thrash metal, resulting in a thrash-core holocaust! Combining their sheer aggressiveness with hardcore attitude and metal elements! After two years of reherasing and working on the new material, the new album entitled "Kill the children, murderers!" sounds like a 10-ton compact force of sheer brutality and aggressiveness! A fine piece of heavy and violent MetalCore, first time ever coming from Greece! We tried to warn you... In 2004 the band released another piece of brutal art, the most extreme one, entitled "O Tromos tis eksousias". This is their last studio album in their 20 years of existence. Last but not least comes the "Anthology" in a digipack containing a cd covering their spanning carreer, as well as a dvd with their performance on Rockwave Festival 2004. and the only videoclip ever shot by the band for "Irak-ora 0".
