 Эта финская команда относится к той когорте коллективов, оценка и популярность которых явно не соответствуют тому полету фантазии и уровню музыкального материала, коего они заслуживают. Почему музыкой Before The Dawn не заинтересовался ни один из финских или громких европейских лейблов – остается только строить домыслы и догадки, но те, кто их в итоге подписали, с раскруткой коллектива явно не справились. Для испанского Locomotive заниматься не совсем понятной группой было сложно; с промо-материалом и распространением дисков в Европе у них также было совсем “не айс”, что в итоге сделало Before The Dawn широко известными в узких кругах. Между тем музыка финнов заметно опередила время – интересный сплав финской готики и шведо-финского мелодик-дэта с изящной комбинацией чистого мужского (на этом альбоме он принадлежит бывшему гитаристу Entwine Полу Вилману) и традиционного мелодик-дэтового гроула а-ля Майкл Станне из Dark Tranquility цепляет с первого прослушивания своей необычностью и удивительной силой материала. Стартовая “Unbreakable” с шикарным гроулом и удивительным чувством ритма захватывает и поднимает в воздух; размеренная “Seraphim” удерживает в состоянии полета и вызывает чувство нереальности происходящего от того чудесного вида, какой открывается перед нами; трагичная “My Darkness” в духе Dark Tranquility предвещает смену воздушных потоков, и нас постепенно тянет к земле; куда со стремительностью ястреба мы летим под “Take My Pain”, чтобы зависнуть над ней под звуки чем-то схожей с первой песней с единственного альбома Betray My Secret за вычетом восточных веяний и, по совместительству, самой лучшей песней альбома, “Father And Son”. И дальше вновь взлет, осмотр и новое падение, за новой жертвой… Кто знает, но может быть сейчас, руководствуясь принципом, что лучше позже, чем никогда, Before The Dawn оценят? Начну с того, что три дня назад об этой группе я вообще ничего не слышал. Наше, надеюсь, длительное знакомство началось с клипа на песню "Deadsong". Очень заинтересовали! Когда я начал слушать этот альбом, меня посетила одна мысль: "Дааа, финны все одинаковы". Группа мне очень сильно напомнила Sentenced (особенно их раннее творчество). Вокал не так похож (тем более, что у рассматриваемой команды вокалистов аж два человека), но по музыке влияния более, чем заметны. Из плюсов - отличнейшая мелодика, хороший "чистый" вокал (гроулинг тоже на уровне). Из минусов - по большей части мелодии похожи друг на друга. И еще, при прослушивании появилось чувство дежа-вю - и дело даже не в пресловутой группе на букву S. Это все уже где-то было. Но все-таки любителям Sentenced, To\Die\For, Poisonblack (хотя их, скорее всего, отпугнет гроул, но не факт) и иже с ними посвящается. Мрачная лиричная музыка. Достойно. |
