 Steel Attack никогда не относились к первой лиге пауэр металл команд, да и во второй они были далеко не на первых ролях, что нисколько не мешало им строгать альбом за альбомом с завидным постоянством. Похвально, что дело не ограничивалось обычным использованием идей дебютника – шведы предпочитали, и всячески пытались, найти свое лицо. Это у них почти получилось на третьем диск “Predators Of Empire”, материал которого, хоть и не претендовал на уникальность, был в меру приятным и позитивным. Но Steel Attack решили вновь пуститься во все тяжкие, и уже через год, к четвертому диск “Enslaved” от былого задора не осталось и следа: на место веселого пауэра пришел мрачноватый и нудноватый angry power с небольшими неоклассическими вставками. Столь длинное предисловие дано лишь по одной причине – “Diabolic Symphony” не подготовил для потенциального слушателя никаких сюрпризов: перед нами все такой же мрачноватый, малохитовый и скучный dark power, каким он был на прошлом альбоме “Enslaved”. Голос Ренни Хемлина по-прежнему холоден и однообразен, и то, что воспринимается как своеобразная фишка в одном-двух треках, на протяжении целого альбома вызывает приступ зевоты. Если первые треки, с определенной натяжкой, можно назвать хитовыми (“Swallow Seas Of Hatred” и “Diabolic Symphony”, на которую снято видео, размещенное в качестве бонуса на лицензионной версии альбома), то ближе к концовке различить их практически невозможно – они буквально сливаются в одну протяжную и нудную песню. “Diabolic Symphony” может понравиться тем, кто ценит в современном пауэре однообразность и жесткость, на дух не перенося сопливых клавиш, однако имейте ввиду, что и в данном направлении есть группы значительно сильнее Steel Attack (Диск предоставлен компанией Mystic Empire) |
