 Восьмидесятые годы – это несомненно буйные, дикие, а также ещё и тёмные годы, когда группы могли стремительно возвыситься ввысь буквально посредством одной пластинки, и также стремительно сгинуть в пучине тех веков, не оставив даже названия или другой информации о себе. Сейчас вряд ли такое может случиться, судя по обширному росту рождаемости новых групп. Итак, английская команда Демон – это ветеран новой волны британского хэви металла. Однако большой популярности группа эта не получила, знаю по своему опыту - начинаешь слушать металл и сразу выскакивают Мэйдены, Присты, Аксепт и Элис Купер. Группа как можно было заметить с года этого альбома, довольно-таки старенькая. Исполняет она, несмотря на такое яркое мистическое название, самый простой и обыкновенский хард-н-хэви, нечто наподобие ранних Pretty Maids или Twisted Sister. Вокалист Дэйв Хилл вопреки традиции хриплого вокала обладает исключительно чистым, однако не слишком харизматичным и оригинальным войсом. Дебютный альбом, а это именно он, обладает весьма неплохим качеством записи, не идеальным, хотя достаточно чистым и плотным, можно сказать что даже у более весомых монстров рока стартовые работы были ужасного качества звучания, а тут совершенно другая ситуация. И вот самое главное и единственное отличие Демона, от всех остальных коллективов состоит в том, что тексты песен пропитаны разными ужастиками и, как говориться, носят инфернальный характер, однако с сатанизмом они не связаны, но и вряд ли получат одобрение у настоящих христиан. Обложка диска тоже получилась весьма страшной, хотя всё-таки меня иногда посещают приступы разочарования, что группа носит настолько откровенно богомерзкое название, а музыку играет такую, хм, в некоторой степени даже добрую. К музыкальному материалу представленному на рассматриваемой работе ближе всего подходит определение – первый блин получившийся комом…Мелодии просто потрясающе примитивны и просты, не запоминающиеся и совсем не цепляющие, да ещё и драйва нет. Одно только радует – банда не скатывается к банальной рок-н-ролльщине как по текстах так и по музыке, что для меня является несомненным плюсом. Наиболее всего меня заинтересовали такие песни как открывающая заглавная композиция «Night Of The Demon», с более-менее запоминающимся припевом и хорошей соло партией и следующая песня «Into The Nightmare», правда такой мягкой мелодии больше подошёл бы припев «Into The Love», чем такие страхи. В общем, альбом «Night Of The Demon» – это материал, который по достоинству оценят только любители музыкальных старостей, поклонникам же качественного хард рока и хэви металла здесь ловить нечего. |
