 Третий альбом немецких хард рокеров. Очень сильный диск, стоит заметить, ничем не уступающий дебютному альбому «Kingdom Of The Night», и с лёгкостью обгоняющий предыдущую слабую работу «Axxis II». Записан он посредством Джо Бэйлина в Филадельфии и по качеству звучания отличается от других пластинок банды в лучшую сторону – очень плотное, иногда даже агрессивное звучание гитарных партий, мощные ударные, и более низкий и спокойный вокал Бернарда Вэйса делают «The Big Thrill» лидером в дискографии коллектива и ещё одним подарком для поклонников группы, но, кстати говоря, – любая вещь с этого диска может понравиться любому любителю хард-н-хэви независимо от его отношения к группе. Среди самых лучших песен хотелось бы выделить бесподобную балладу «Stay Don’t Leave Me», средне темповый номер «Love Doesn’t Know Any Distance» (тут у меня случилось дежа вю – вокал показался до ужаса похожим на Ленни Вольфа из Kingdom Come, именно с такими интонациями Ленни стал петь в конце девяностых, но песня всё же замечательная, тем более она не совсем похожа на творчество команды в этом ключе). Далее можно выделить мощнейший эпик «Heaven's 7th Train». Следующим номером заслуживающим упоминания является очень душевная и волнующая баллада «Waterdrop» – я даже не ожидал, что Аксис создаст настолько цепляющий медляк, от которого будут мурашки идти по коже даже после двадцатого прослушивания! Также неплохи два последних боевика «The Wolf» и «Road To Never, Neverland» – вполне равные по своей силе композиции, сражающиеся друг с другом за обладание титулом бесбашенности и скорострельности. Единственными слабыми произведениями на альбоме можно назвать две первые песни – это открывающая «Better World - Living In The Dark» - совсем неоригинальная и дурная песня, и следующая за ней «Against A Brick Wall», жутко напоминающая «Screaming For Vengeance» Пристовского авторства. В целом, данный диск оставляет отличное впечатление профессиональной, интересной и крепкой работы. Я рекомендовал бы его к прослушиванию всем поклонникам мелодичного хард рока, и, конечно же, для всех фэнов группы беспрекословный мастхэв. |
